Sitting around the kitchen table one day, I was inspired by my daughters Harriet & Hannah to make something environmentally friendly and affordable to enhance the home. 'What better than a candle?' I thought, we love them in our house!
We chose soy wax which is a natural, renewable and affordable wax. A great alternative to paraffin with far less soot! It has a lower melting point so allows for faster dispersion and wax spills can be cleared up with hot soapy water making us all happy!
After making and burning many candles at home using fragrance oils, I heard on the radio that 'fragrance candles are not good for the home environment'. Determined not to be beaten I returned to the drawing board and started over, this time using essential oils. After another period of home trials my family and I agreed. It had to be soy wax with essential oils and so the H & H essential oil soy candle range was born.
